Registration is open for our annual meeting in Mendocino County. Please make your plans to attend and, as usual, enjoy mixing with other soils enthusiasts and visit this beautiful northern California area.
This meeting is a joint effort between the Professional Soil Scientists Association of California (PSSAC) and the California Forest Soils Council (CFSC).
The focus of the meeting will be on the vast soil offerings of Mendocino County. Stops will include the Ecological Staircase, prescribed fire in coastal forests, climosequence of soil moisture and temperature regimes from coast to inland and ecological relationships, Willits Bypass Mitigation project and grazing, and more! Tours by carpool will be on Friday and Saturday.
We have reserved a campground with canvas tent-cabins (that include cots/mattresses) and central bathrooms, showers, and kitchen at Mendocino Woodlands Camp Association for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Dinner will be provided Friday evening (BYOB), followed by a brief business meeting. Some snacks will be provided, but other meals will be on your own, including bringing a packed lunch during the field tours (kitchen is available for use on site, Fort Bragg is about 25 min away, Mendocino is 15 min away).
